I haven't had to use

"I haven't had to use any of the replacement parts, but the silicone was perfect for preventive maintenance prior to a backpacking trip and the availability of parts gave great peace of mind while in the forest for 9 days with the Guardian as our primary water filter."

Leaking at the pump head assembly

"Bought a guardian purifier a few months ago and out of the box it leaked in the pump head assembly quite a bit, guessing around the piston o-ring. Emailed MSR/Cascade designs because it probably just needs a new o-ring. Never heard back from them even after a second email. Went and exchanged it and the new one I got does the same thing. Guess I will be buying a $40. 00 to $50. 00 maintenance kit out of my own pocket to fix."

Mikroworx not sucking up very much water.

"I love this filter. I changed jobs, moved and with much regret my filter sat in my unused backpack for a whole hiking season. Good news is I got back on the trails yesterday. I think my O rings are dried up because the filter was having trouble sucking up water. I cleaned the intake before I put it away. Will the Guardian filter kit work for the Mikroworx?"

MSR Guardian breaks on first use -- MSR service does not respond.

"MSR Guardian pump nut broke during first backpacking trap. Cascade Designs has not replied to service requests I made two months ago. I cannot find one online. The annual maintainance kit ford not include that part. I thus have a very expensive failed Guardian Purifier and cannot get the company to help at all."

Highly recommend

"Perfect, Great kit. This pump will last me till my last breath. 😂"

Difficulty Replacing Pressure Relief Valve

"I am having difficulty replacing the Pressure Relief Valve on the Guardian Water Purifier. The instructions state the Pressure Relief Valve should be turned 1/3 of a rotation and then carefully removed. However, after several attempts I am unable to remove the Pressure Relief Valve. Does MSR have any suggestions?"
