"Does not stay dry inside, unfortunatly the first product from MSR that failed and I cannot recommand"
"Two days after receiving my E Bivy I went on a 10 day trip. First 5 nights it rained lightly every night and I stayed dry. Love the lightweight too. It lightened my sleep system by nearly 6 oz."
"I’ve been using this for winter camping. It is roomy enough to hold my big winter sleeping bag and a foam pad. It is very light and packs very small. It is a great addition to my winter kit."
"No matter what I try, I can't seem to keep dry inside this bivy. Also, there's no way to tighten the hole around your face (presumably because wind blowing into it is the only way you might be able to minimize condensation). It really is just as good as a garbage bag. Way too expensive for what it is. But I guess I have it now, so I'll have to keep looking for ways to keep down the moisture."
"I’ve been guiding in Alaska now for quite some time. I purchased the e-bivy to use in conjunction with my UL floor less tent and it failed. Not once but multiple times I used it this fall. It takes no time for this bivy to become saturated by even the smallest bit of overnight condensation or snow drift that gets blown under the tent. Leaving my sleeping bag inoperable and putting me in a potentially dangerous situation. I do not recommend anyone use this bivy for any climate. Especially if you are in an emergency situation. The top loading vs side entry does not make this product any easier to use being 99% of all sleeping bags are side zip. Obviously MSR did not spend much time developing this poor excuse for a “shelter”."
"Spent a night in a snow cave inside the E-bivy recently and it performed well. Just be careful to configure the opening so your exhalations vent out easily or you will get some condensation."
"Great peace of mind in a small package. I keep one of these in my pack on almost every outing, for the weight it is great insurance in case something goes wrong. Surprisingly light weight!"
"I've used my eBivy on a few multi-day bikepacking trips with and without a poncho sil-tarp. For a quick and light set-up, it's ideal. If I keep my breath out, I've had no condensation problem and with a blanket and mattress very good sleeps. I use a micro-fiber liner I can pull over my head that allows breath to pass through but keeps the bugs out. If you're too rushed or lightweight to use a tent, this will work. Small, light and quick to use. Hard to beat that for a few hour nap."
