How do I make sure I’m choosing the correct poles or rainfly for my tent?

First, verify which tent you have. The tent name is printed on the end of the stuff sack, on the tent body near the front door, and on a tag sewn inside the original tent pole bag. If you are still unsure of the model, refer to the images provided on the product pages, paying attention to the rainfly colors and tent geometry to point you in the right direction. For tent poles, use the tent pole diagrams linked on each replacement product page. These diagrams provide exact measurements for each pole section, along with other identifying features that make each pole set distinct.

How do I use the tent pole diagrams linked on the product page?

Each rainfly and pole replacement product page includes links to tent pole diagrams in the product description. These diagrams can help you confirm your tent model and identify the correct replacement parts before purchasing. Each diagram includes the tent model and year range, replacement part numbers, and reference images of the original tent with and without the rainfly. It also shows a breakdown of the pole set, with numbered and lettered callouts for each pole segment and component. A corresponding table lists details like segment length and diameter, hub type, end tip color, and pole material. Compare these details to your existing tent and pole set to make sure you’re selecting the correct replacement part.

I don’t see my tent model or replacement part listed. What should I do?

Some parts for older or less common tent models may not be listed on our website. If you don’t see your tent model or the part you need, use our tent replacement parts guide to help identify your tent, then reach out to us here. We’ll do our best to find you a replacement.

I only broke a single pole segment. Do I have to buy a complete pole set?

Not always. First, check the surrounding pole sections for damage. The force that breaks one pole segment can sometimes bend, crack, or weaken nearby sections as well. If the damage is limited to a few pole segments, replacing those sections can be a good alternative to buying a complete pole set. We offer individual pole segments for most tents dating back to 2012. Use the tent pole diagram linked on the corresponding replacement pole set page to identify the numbered segment(s) you need, then submit a support ticket. We’ll help you find the correct replacement if one is available. If the damage is more extensive, a complete pole set may be the best option.

What should I do if a pole ferrule has fallen out or slipped inside the pole? Do I need a new pole?

Composite Syclone pole ferrules are glued in and may come loose over time. If a ferrule has fallen out or slipped inside the pole, you can make a quick and easy repair to the existing pole with one of our Syclone tent pole ferrule kits. Aluminum pole ferrules are crimped inside the pole and cannot be effectively re-seated if they come loose. In this situation, it is best to contact us directly for a replacement aluminum pole section.

The shock cord in my tent poles is broken. Do I need to buy a new pole set?

No. If the tent poles are intact, you can easily replace your shock cord with a Shock Cord Replacement Kit.

I’m not sure if I need an entirely new rainfly. Is there a place I can inquire about a repair?

In some instances, it can be more cost-effective to repair your tent rather than replace components. In addition, older tents may no longer have rainflies available, but you can extend their lifespan with a professional repair, such as an aftermarket zipper replacement or patch. If you’re not confident in your repair skills or need major work done, you can find a list of the repair shops we recommend here.
