"Great piece of equipment"
"I'm sure some lawyer said they needed to sell these with the bottles but they're terrible. Sure, at room temp they work fine if you have normal hand strength. They're just fiddly and a little harder to open than my bear canister. But at -10C at 10k ft elevation in wind with mittens on by the light of a headlamp as you're freezing because you just dug around in the snow burying tent stakes? Nope. Not fun. And even once you get them loose it's still fidgety and you're trying to not spill fuel on yourself. The bottles should either be sold with the normal caps with a disclaimer that drinking fuel is bad for children and parents need to buy their oen tamper proof caps if that's what they need, OR MSR should offer some kind of exchange or discount program to let people buy the normal caps that they actually need and help reduce waste, as it is I have 4 of these that are just going into the landfill. Not very environmentally responsible."
"I have 3 bottles all with these caps. Oldest and most used is 10 years old, other are 7 and 4 y\o. I NEVER had any issues with this cup. Even when it's pretty tight. It is very robust and made of of durable plastic. I go to this review section from time to time to just have a very good laugh, I bet these people with 1 star review also need help opening their pharmacy bottles. Buy some LEGO, develop your motor skillz... LOL, it will save your life one day ahahahah"
"I have spent over 3 hours failing to open two fuel bottles with these stupid caps and am now giving up. Thank goodness I am not in the mountains with this yet as this ridiculous poorly thought out cap will eventually lead to a serious accident. And dont tell me to buy another cap (at my cost) or reach out to your customer service team. Redesign the item."
"The cap is the furthest thing from user friendly. It failed on me while camping, despite 20 mins of trying to get it to open. Please consider a redesign that is reliable. This current design is dangerous."
"I cannot open this cap. If I am in a life or death situation in the wilderness, you'd rather that I die than some child spills a bit of fuel on themselves. Terrible priorities."
"I bought two bottles and they came with these child-proof caps. I hate them! Every time I go to open them, it turns into a 10 minute struggle. I use these on a motorcycle so I'm usually on the side of the road trying to quickly get going. After 20 minutes on the side of the road and trying to look up videos about what I was doing wrong, I gave up and flagged someone down to give me a hand getting more gas. This is just crazy. I don't want these caps. I can't replace them anyway until I can figure out why this one is stuck."
"Hi, I ran into the same issue with this lid... when I tested it, all was fine, but when I was on my trip, tried to open it for 30 minutes without success.. couldn't open the bottle. Luckily, had a smaller can that I was able to open and use. Can you make a troubleshooting video?"
"If you have kids and need that extra little bit of safety since kids get into everything!"
"Works great and makes me feel better camping w my kido considering he likes to open everything."
