Old Pot Refresh!

"I’ve had my Windburner for ages, works like a charm. Until a recent trip to the bighorns, and an issue with the user. I somehow packed a flat gas can, I ran out about half way through my trip. And I’m fine cold soaking, but absolutely cannot due without my morning coffee! I ended up improvising with a stick fire, and my little pot took a beating, black as night and melted when I got home. I soaked it in a product named dark crystal glass cleaner (if ya know, ya know), and reached out to customer service about the wrap. My pot looks new and is now sporting the sexy red wrap so I don’t lose it! Most excellent customer service here, the ‘guys’ are great, and I am one happy customer now. Always have been here, the gear is good but the service is even better!"

Works

"The original Pot Cozy somehow melted townted at the toped of the cup and made it dangerously when heating. I will now limit the heating of the water to 50% and this might limit the burning of the problem I had. The original pot Cozy is the same that I received. I hope it will be like it was intended."

"The perfect replacement for my burnt original."

Fiddly

"These jackets are the worst part of the stove. They don’t stay attached to the cup very well due to a poor locking mechanism. This means they regularly slip down over the stove when cooking. After several years, I’d hoped a better, more robust design would have been implemented."

Good, but definitely not perfect

"When I received the "round" cozy it arrived squished flat, and folded in half. I was NOT happy about that, but I was hoping that once the pot was heated it WOULD soften the plastic enough to make it the round shape it was intended to be - which it did. Crisis averted. However... the locking tab that's supposed to hold the cozy in place and keep it from sliding up and down on the pot doesn't do it job. So the cozy is constantly sliding up and down, and I have to be extremely careful to not melt it if it's not seated correctly - which is what happened to my original. I'm going to take a heat gun to it and bend it a little to see if I can rectify the issue... but I shouldn't have to."
