"I love it."
"We have an older Questar and the new zipper design makes it easier to zip and unzip without snagging the bag. Still as warm as the old one. Temp rating is about right. Used it down to the single digits without feeling cold wearing fleece underwear."
"Plenty of space to move around and decently warm (I've used it only up to 7C). Not sure it will handle when I go to the arctic this summer, but I'm hopeful! Packs down super small and is also light. Only wish the blue was the outside colour instead of the green!"
"This bag has kept me nice and cozy through some chilly PNW nights. Overnight temperatures in the Pacific Northwest in fall, winter, and spring rarely dip below freezing. I have used this bag in the mid 30s and it has kept me warm. I am usually cold when sleeping so I use a bag with a lower rating than the outside temperature."
"I had used this bag for an overnight in the Pinchot State Forest in PA. The lowest temperature was 20F with some wind chill that brought it near the bags labeled comfort rating of 15F. I used a MSR Access 1 tent (winter rated). My sleep pad system was the NeoAir XTherm Sleeping Pad (R 6.9) combined with a Z Lite SOL Sleeping Pad (R 2.0), which provided a robust R 8.9. This sleeping pad system coupled with a 0F extreme rating should have proved sufficient. However, in spite of the aforementioned system and wearing merino wool base layer (socks, pants, shirt, and face covering), I woke up at 2am shivering. Good thing I brought with me a winter sleeping bag insert. Once deployed, I never slept better. While it advertises the ability “roll around” for those restless sleepers, which it did, it did have some consequences - the snap and zipper would always come undone and cinch hole would cover mouth. These issues were enhanced by the sleeping pad straps, which ironically allowed for the movement. Overall, if used wisely with appropriate gear, this bag is sufficient and comfortable. Do I regret this purchase - NO! I happy to have this in my backpacking arsenal."
"I bought this bag to replace an older 0 degree sleeping bag that I have. My old bag has seen over 200 nights of use and has lost a lot of down and loft, so I was looking for a new bag to replace it. Long story short, after trying out this questar bag backpacking, to me it actually felt less warm than my very used old 0 degree bag. I’m a very cold sleeper so when it’s 20 degrees out I still sleep in long johns and a down jacket and pants in my bag, but despite that with this bag I was still cold. Ultimately warmth feels like the absolute top priority in a bag and I don’t feel like this bag met that requirement. That being said I loved: -how light it is - the straps to secure it to the sleeping pad - the non-stick zipper - the baffles around the neck to keep warm air from getting out - how soft the bag feels - that you get a large storage stuff sack along with the compression stuff sack that you can use to store the bag properly at home So yeah overall I’d say really great design it just seems like it could use some more down. Maybe my old 0 degree bag was exceptionally warm and was not a good benchmark, but compared to that bag, this questar was not as warm."
"Seems good enough. I appreciate the complete abscence of pfc's and the sexy nearly od colour. I would like to se some overfilling of this bag scince i definatley feel spots without feathers in the top middle layers. My scales say 1,78 kg wich is aproximately 1,8 kg as stated on the website. Definately beefy hood and footbox."
"Après beaucoup d'essais de sacs, j'ai trouvé le top : confort en largeur et longueur, douceur, chaleur, légèreté...un vrai bonheur"
"Very warm and roomy. I wish it had the ability to open to toe box to increase ventilation on those "warmer", 40 degree nights."
