Introduced to MSR 20 years

"Introduced to MSR 20 years ago. I’m still biased. They made easier."

William G. (5/5)

I am very happy with

"I am very happy with this stove base. I purchased it for use on an 8 day ski traverse and the light weight and packability were greatly appreciated. I was able to pack the Trillium in the 2. 5L pot along with a Whisperlite and wind shield + two collapsible camp bowls to make efficient use of space while moving camps. It does get fairly warm and will melt into the snow gradually, but it does a good job of staying level as long as there is weight on top of the stove. I would prefer a proper stove board for a base-camp style setup, but when the stove is moving every day this is great. On the wire-legged Whisperlite the locking interface is a fairly loose fit and this allowed the fuel line to push one leg up. This is relatively minor as the stove sits level when there is a pot on top, but it can lead to biased melting in the snow if the stove sits for any period of time without weight on top. This is a non-issue on hard surfaces or dirt."

"Reely adds a lot of stability to the stove"

"Stabilizes the Dragonfly enabling use of carbon steel fry pan and cast iron griddle. Just what I wanted for truck camping."

Confirm Fit First

"This base does not fit my dragonfly stove, and so was just lost money. There was no fitment guide when I purchased the base, so it will be a good idea to contact someone at Cascade Designs before purchasing. However, it will be even better if Cascade Designs will provide a guide."

Bobby C. (3/5)

Bigger than expected

"Bigger means more surface area for stability. Can’t wait to blacken some redfish."

As all MSR products, this

"As all MSR products, this is not far from perfect. I was lucky enough to find it on Cascade Designs web store. Too bad MSR discontinued this product"

Valentin C. (5/5)

A nice add!

"Solid for all surfaces and works amazing!"

Jeff B. (5/5)

Very well designed

Ralph R. (5/5)

Convenient and durable.

"For just a little more weight, this base is far more stable than the little foil ring, and forever durable. While maybe not critical for a single day trip, it's essential equipment for expeditions or prolonged use."
