"Great design and features, love the HD for Alaska summer adventures requiring a lightweight tent."
"Have not put in real world use yet, but looks sturdier than the LT, they both have there purpose. The LT is great when wind is going to stay below 50km/h with good stakeing and temps above freezing. Just came off a 5 night backpack trip off a penisula on vancouver island. The marine weather station right beside us had winds gusting 73knm/hr. Built a wall around the LT and it held its own in the weather. This is going to be my go to when weather looks ugly like this past trip or when things get cold. this thing looks bomb proof."
"Knowing we were going on a literal ice just out 9 day backcountry canoe trip, we purchased the Hubba Hubba HD 3 person tent. Our fairer weather tent is also a 3 person Hubba Hubba and it has served us well. Paddled into our first lake through snow flurries and gale force wind. We were wind bound for several days. Our new tent held up just fine in the winds, rain & snow. We were grateful for the extra space as we had to seek shelter multiple times throughout the day. Yes, it is heavier than our other Hubba Hubba, but worth carrying the few extra pounds. Keep up the great work MSR & we will continue tripping with you."
"The tent is spacious and well ventilated for a 3-season tent. It can sleep 4 people with small sleeping pads or 3 people with larger pads. The rainfly is a bit short and very thin, similar to recent MSR tents. The included clothesline is a nice addition."
"Partner and I took our HD 3 out for its maiden voyage into the Mount Baker backcountry over a snowshoe weekend and it held up great during a decent-sized PNW storm. Quick and intuitive to set up. We used the extra guy out lines and hardware as winds were high throughout the weekend. Everything stayed taut and dry. Super cozy inside! Love all the headroom and gear storage! (ceiling pockets and clothesline and two rows of end pockets). Didn’t expect this to be a part of our winter gear quiver but with the high durability and low weight, I expect we’ll be taking this on winter and spring tours for many years"
"We start backpacking / car camping early in the season when spring storms are still dumping snow or heavy rain as well as push late in the season long after the leaves have dropped in the Rockies. Because of this, the HD should provide all the weather protection we need while remaining lightweight and comfortable in the peak of summer. If nothing else, the new HD wins the best looking tent award. Hands down."
