"Perfect compliment to a backcountry kitchen."
"On one of our backpacking fishing trips, my dad complained that we didn't have a skillet to cook the fish we caught. So, I got this skillet, we caught fish, and then it came time to perform. My dad asked me if it was non-stick, because we did pack in any oil to cook on. I said it was ceramic and non-stick. Sure enough, it was. It performed the task that my father asked it to do perfectly. It could the fish, and we had some delicious trout to eat. We then collapsed the handle, put in our pack, and packed it out. Could ask for any more than that of it."
"Everything sticks to this pan. It doesn’t distribute the massive heat from the WindBurner stove well and you get a hotspot in the middle. The ring that seats the stove will eventually fall off, which is ideal because then you can use it with a pan that works better. MSR should sell the rings separately."
"Super handy and worked very well."
"I like it, it works very well. I'd like to have one smaller for one person."
"This is nice, fine to cook with. However, an option to have a lid that is made for it would make some cooking instances better. There is no lid option."
"Works well. Heats up fast but heat is not uniform in the pan but centred. Coating is holding up well. Would definitely recommend it."
"Excellent"
"Poor quality of the material. It is not non-stick and the enamel peels off after a short time of use. Temperature only in the center, not at the edges. For its price, disappointing."
"I’ve used this pan for a couple of years of camping now, and while it is very light, durable and convenient to have a skillet that works with the windburner system, it is a pretty terrible pan. The heat does not transfer at all to the edges of the pan, so much so that you can hold it with your hands while cooking something. The base is curved up into the middle, so any oil you add goes straight to the cold edges, and the non stick surface is pretty questionable. It gets so hot in the centre even with the windburner set low that it will catch and burn, and you can’t keep the oil there to help keep it non stick. It’s kind of fine for scrambled eggs and bacon if you constantly stir, but for anything that needs even heat it’s a no go. It’s quite disappointed as I love the windburner system and am consistently impressed by other cascade design products, but this one seems to be an overpriced afterthought. I hope to see an updated version of this that addresses the issues that myself and others have raised."
