Equal access to the outdoors is an unrealized dream.
This is why Therm-a-Rest is committed to helping make camp for everyone. Our goal is to foster inclusive and accessible outdoor spaces where everyone—of all ages and backgrounds—is welcome, respected and shares in the experience of sleeping under the stars.
Through a partnership with non-profit Big City Mountaineers (BCM), Therm-a-Rest helps to increase access to transformative outdoor experiences for young people from disinvested communities across America. BCM guides students to manifest their decision-making, resilience, and personal responsibility in an outdoor setting with the aim of bolstering their self-efficacy once back in the city. Making Camp for Everyone starts with our young people.

OUR SUPPORT
For 30 years, BCM has partnered with youth development agencies in seven cities across the USA to connect students with nature. Offering overnight camps for students aged 8-12 and their flagship backpacking and canoe trips for students aged 13-18, BCM seeks to reconnect students with their strengths, skills, and adaptability.
Through annual monetary support, gear donations and signal-boosting for BCM, Therm-a-Rest seeks to make camp for everyone by investing in outdoor access for students from disinvested communities.
