The NeoAir® XTherm™ NXT Sleeping Pad offers an exceptional warmth-to-weight ratio, making it ideal for cold weather backpacking and mountaineering. Customers praise its durability and warmth, though some have noted issues with air leakage and customer service. The pad's pump is easy to use, and the new version, while slightly heavier, includes a wide option that is highly recommended.

"Slept on the snow for over a week on this pad. Incredibly warm for the weight. Should’ve bought one sooner, makes winter camping far more enjoyable."
"Excellent sleeping pad. Perfect size and thickness. Ease to inflate, strong valve and really liked the accessory bag it came with to pump it up. Looking forward to our trip this weekend on Vancouver islands west coast."
"Overall it's a fantastic sleeping pad, but the valve started to leak right after the pad's warranty span of two years, of course. It's now deflating up to 3 times over a 8hrs night. Patches are great for tears and holes from normal use over time, but valves are still a major weakness in the system."
"I started using ThermaRest pads when they first were invented in 1972. Cascade Designs has consistently worked to update and improve them over the years, and, in my opinion, these are the best yet. The have an impressively high R-value, are thick enough to be very comfortable, and are very tough and resistant to damage. The only real negative thing I have to say, is not about the quality of the pad at all, just the sizing available. If one is looking to pack as absolutely light as possible, I actually prefer the small size pads that Cascade Designs offered when they first came out with the NeoAir. They were about 48 inches long, and were perfectly adequate. I am 6' 1" and I prefer the older, lighter, smaller pads! I simply throw my empty pack under my feet, and use extra clothes and gear for my pillow, the the 48" length is plenty long for my torso. This saved me significant weight and bulk. I've use this pad for many backpacking and ski trips in Alaska, as well as climbing Denali, Mt. Logan, and multiple 8,000-meter peaks in the Himalaya. Unfortunately, I wore it out and now need to make-due with the much larger and heavier "regular" size, rather than the "short" that used to be available. Please, Cascade Designs, bring back the "short" version of this NeoAir pad! But for now, I will be forced to use a pad that is 1/4 the bulk and 1/6 the weight of my original ThermaRest. Poor me!"
"I've been using Therm-a-Rest sleeping pads for over 43 years, so it's safe to say I'm a loyal fan. After spending time with the NeoAir XTherm NXT, I'm an even bigger one. I've used this pad on numerous backpacking trips, as well as on a backcountry ski touring expedition in Kyrgyzstan. It has consistently kept me warm, even in cold conditions, while remaining incredibly lightweight and compact. When every ounce and every inch of pack space matters, this pad shines. It rolls up easily and fits neatly into an already crammed backpack, making packing quick and hassle-free. The comfort, warmth, and packability of the NeoAir XTherm NXT are exceptional. It's become one of my favorite pieces of gear, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a high-performance sleeping pad. Once again, Therm-a-Rest has knocked it out of the park!"
"The gold standard when it comes to low weight and high r-value. I have both this version and the rectangular Max version. Love them both."
"Best sleeping pad ever, and I've used a lot of different sleeping pads over the las 37 years."
"The NeoAir XTherm NXT is hands-down my favorite sleeping pad: insanely warm for the weight and super comfortable. I had a minor issue and contacted Cascade Designs Repairs, they not only explained everything clearly, but they also identified delamination during their assessment and arranged a free replacement. Exceptional customer service and a product I’m truly happy to recommend."
